RFME CEV – Alcarras

This was a double headed weekend for the Moto4 class in the RFME CEV. Coming back strong in Free Practice from the disappointment of the weekend before, Josh made great progress lap times dropping every session.

Qualifying – With the weather uncharacteristically constantly changing from blistering sun to rain and storms Josh had a tricky qualifying and ended up in P11.

Race 1 Saturday – The sun came out and gave the riders a dry track, Josh had a great start and some superb battles and worked his way through the field to finish in 3rd place, gaining his first ever podium in the RFME CEV

Race 2 – Sunday – After having storms Saturday evening the weather unfortunately didn’t clear up so It’s declared a wet race. Conditions where tricky and visibility poor and Josh had to start from his original qualifying position of 11th. Josh rode a superb race fighting for 3rd place right until the final corner and unfortunately missed 3rd place by inches.

Josh said “I’m really happy with how I rode that race, I couldn’t have done anymore. Coming in to the final corner I thought I had enough to get 3rd on the final straight but I had to pull back as the back end nearly went and I knew I had to settle for 4th rather than crash and take the 3rd place rider with me.”

Joshua’s Crew Chief Fausto said, “This for me was my favourite race of josh from the weekend…..this showed good good talent.”
