The penultimate round of the MotoGP calendar was held at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. The hotter weather provided a welcome change after the cooler conditions last week in Australia.
Josh Whatley had exceeded his maximum engine allowance for the season and had to use a 7th engine. This meant that he would start the race from pit lane as a penalty.
Starting the race from pit lane meant that it was a lonely race for Josh but he pushed himself all the way to the flag, crossing the line in 23rd position.

“It was an incredibly tough and lonely race but it felt like the ultimate training session. The fly away races have been a lot of fun but I’m definitely looking forward to going back to a track that I know really well in two weeks time.”
